Morning Announcer
I was born in Minneapolis Minnesota in 1986. My dad was a computer software engineer for a company called Control Data. He and three other guys at his company were asked if they could relocate. So when I was around a year and a half. My mom and dad packed up our small house in Minneapolis and moved us to Birmingham, Alabama. My sister was born while living there. And our family lived in Birmingham for around 13 years. While living there my dad took a job as an interim pastor of a church. In the summer of 2001 my dad felt a calling from the Lord telling him to go full time into preaching. My family packed up for the second time and moved to a small town in Mississippi. Where we lived for two years. In the summer of 2003 my family moved for the third time back to Minnesota, where I lived for four years. So basically I’ve lived north and south, but never east or west! While living in Minnesota I graduated high school and went to work. About ten months after I graduated high school I felt a calling into radio broadcasting. I attended Brown College University, and earned an associates degree in applied science in radio broadcasting. And the rest you might say is history. My dad is now the Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Phillipsburg. So it’s nice to have my parents only an hour away, there still close by, but far enough to where I am out on my own. My name is Matt Gervais; I’m 21 years old and am the morning drive announcer for KPRD. And love it so far!
